Tri-Valley Fitness Center
Tri-Valley Local School is excited about the prospect of opening a fitness center owned and operated by Tri-Valley Schools yet is available to the community during designated hours. The fitness center will provide a facility for sports practices for students as well as provide the community with local fitness accommodations and wellness programs.
Fitness Center Educational Benefits:
At present Tri-Valley High School and Middle School have numerous teams competing for available gym space. Even though a new gym has been constructed at the high school, the Jefferson building will soon be demolished and that gym will be lost. Practice and game times are needed for the following:
Boys Varsity Basketball Girls Varsity Basketball Boys Junior Varsity Basketball Girls Junior Varsity Basketball Boys Freshman Basketball Girls Freshman Basketball Boys 8th Grade “A” and “B” Teams Basketball Girls 8th Grade “A” and “B” Team Basketball Boys 7th Grade “A” and “B” Teams Basketball Girls 7th Grade “A” and “B” Teams Basketball
Trying to accommodate 14 separate teams needing gym space for practice and games stretches current facilities to the limits. Students have staggered practice times whenever the gym space becomes available. It is common for practice times to conclude as late as 9:00 p.m., such late practice times present an academic disadvantage for these student athletes. With three additional basketball courts, all teams would be able to practice and be finished by 5:30. Getting home at an earlier hour to do homework and to get to bed at a reasonable hour represents a great benefit to our students and parents.
Community Benefits:
- Fitness and Wellness activities and classes
- Center contains recycled material
- Senior activities and classes
- Community centered fitness accommodations
